What: 93.3 The Point's Eclipse Viewing Party
When: Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: The Point lounge at Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort
Do you remember your elementary school days when everyone would gather outside, poking holes through a piece of cardboard to safely see a solar eclipse?
The innocent excitement of seeing a "ring of fire" in the sky stays with us today as the third annular solar eclipse (the moon covers the sun's center, leaving the sun's edges visible) in the Eastern Hemisphere approached. One of the best places to watch the sunset is at The Point lounge at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort, and it's even better when there's a solar eclipse happening at around that time.
Ray Gibson and 93.3 The Point were at The Point for Guam's only Solar Eclipse Viewing Party on Thursday, Dec. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission was free. And, as you've learned from your hole-in-a-cardboard elementary school lessons, you must never look directly at the sun without protecting your eyes. The first 100 guests to arrive received a free pair of eclipse-viewing glasses (you could also make your own), a complimentary glass of iced tea, and a discount coupon for the Sheraton's Surfur's Point Bar or La Cascata restaurant.
The next "ring of fire" won't be for a long while. Hundreds joined other sky-watching friends at 93.3 The Point's Eclipse Viewing Party at The Point (Sheraton).
