Sister Cindy

Cindy has been working in Guam radio for over 30 years... an amazing feat for someone who swears she is only 27 and some change. (Suuuure, Sister sure.) Known for her quirky sense of humor, she loves poking fun and making people laugh. Sister Cindy is all about the music and has admittedly eclectic taste. “I love anything from 80s New Wave to heavy metal to electronic dance music! If I can dance or sing to it, I’m a happy girl!”

Never one to shy away from taking on the big boys, Sister Cindy brings a woman’s touch to The BOSS. She loves pop culture, entertainment news, and celebrity gossip. She usually knows who’s in concert, who’s dropping new music, and who’s been naughty or nice! She’s a self-professed media addict who loves sharing the latest about movies, television, and social media.

Cindy started working overnights at K-57 when it was a Top 40 station, and moved to mid-days at what was then Classic 94 KUAM FM. Her talent quickly took her to morning drive, radio's hottest air shift. Sister Cindy is well remembered as Hit Radio 100's traffic reporter, where she co-hosted mornings with long-time friend and mentor, Ray Gibson. Production Manager, co-host and ultimately host of the Afternoon show, one of Cindy's proudest career moments was becoming Hit Radio 100's first and only female Program Director shortly after Ray left for greener pastures.

Now the two are teamed up again, with Ray as the managing partner of Choice Broadcasting and Sister Cindy, part of his team.

A well-known local writer, Cindy is the main feature writer for the award winning Island Time magazine and frequently pens pieces for the Guam Visitors Bureau. “I love writing about our island! Any chance to share Guam with others is a gift,” she said.

Sister Cindy is a proud graduate (with honors) from the University of Guam with a bachelor’s degree in Communication (emphasis on Mass Media). She taught at UOG as an adjunct Communication Professor for nearly six years and earned master’s credits in Mass Communication at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

“I'm a proud square peg who gave up trying to fit in round holes a long time ago. I think the world needs a little goofiness - and I have plenty to share," she laughed.
